Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

Alkermes is committed to diversity, inclusion and belonging throughout our business. We are purposeful about creating an environment that fosters equality and compassion, where we strive to make sure that all voices are respected and valued. Our Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) governance structure includes a DIB Steering Committee and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), all of which play important roles in helping to ensure our efforts are aligned with the diverse range of perspectives within the organization. We also recently established a DIB Executive Committee, which includes our CEO and other senior leaders, to help maximize the impact of our DIB efforts across the business.

With representation from across the company and varying levels of leadership, these groups work together to set goals, establish and execute strategic initiatives, measure our progress and promote a culture of understanding and inclusion throughout our business. They also help the organization respond to important external social and cultural issues and events.

Employee-Led Steering Committee

The Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Steering Committee is an employee-led group that provides perspectives and insights on DIB efforts at Alkermes. The committee works to:

  • Shape the organization’s vision around diversity, inclusion and belonging
  • Recommend strategies and actions to help advance the company’s diversity, inclusion and belonging goals
  • Champion the establishment and successful operation of ERGs
  • Guide diversity-related aspects of the company’s activities

DIB Executive Committee

The Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Executive Committee consists of senior leaders at Alkermes, including our CEO, and serves as an advisory body that provides high-level guidance, feedback and recommendations on the overall diversity, inclusion and belonging program. The committee is tasked with:

  • Setting diversity, inclusion and belonging goals for the company at-large
  • Facilitating implementation of key internal operating practices and policies, as well as advising on external partnerships and sponsorships related to diversity, inclusion and belonging
  • Communicating progress and updates to, and proactively engaging with, our Management Committee and Board of Directors
  • Championing and modeling desired leadership behaviors, and holding our other senior leaders accountable for the same

Employee Resource Groups

Alkermes' Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that seek to foster an inclusive environment based on shared experiences, goals and values. Our ERGs – Pride@Work, Mosaic Network, Women Inspired Network (WIN), Limitless and Operation Salute – provide opportunities for employees to celebrate differences, raise awareness about important issues and collaborate with team members from across the organization on programs and events that are designed to enhance understanding of a wide range of topics that are of importance to our employees.
