Alkermes Gives Back

For more than a decade, Alkermes has been proud to support Alkermes in Action, an employee-led volunteer program that supports local community organizations through hands-on activities. At the heart of Alkermes in Action is the recognition that part of being a responsible corporate citizen is working constructively to support those most in need. Volunteers participate to make a real impact by giving time and energy to charitable organizations, extending our unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.

In December 2021, Alkermes provided Waltham-based employees with both virtual and in-person opportunities to give back to our local communities.

Employees volunteered their time to support Pine Street Inn and Room to Grow, both Boston-based groups that serve homeless and low-income clients, respectively. For Pine Street Inn, volunteers worked to assemble hygiene kits with the items most requested by the Pine Street Inn's clients facing homelessness and housing insecurity. For Room to Grow, volunteers made warm blankets that will be donated to families in need.

Alkermes is also committed to supporting people affected by our disease areas of focus. In partnership with the Dimock Center, a Boston-based community health center, employees created wellness journals and cards with uplifting messages designed to help participants in mental health therapy groups. Volunteers also worked with the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, which provides free housing for cancer patients and their caregivers, creating “chemo care kits” for new residents and decorations to help patients feel more at home while undergoing treatment during the holidays.

We thank all our employees who took time to make a positive difference in the lives of people in need and the organizations that welcomed our partnership.
