Christopher I. Wright, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Wright serves as Chief Medical Officer of Wave Life Sciences Ltd., a publicly-traded clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing RNA-targeting medicines. Prior to joining Wave, he served as Chief Medical Officer at gene therapy companies Ring Therapeutics (founded by Flagship Pioneering) and AavantiBio, Inc. (acquired by Solid Biosciences Inc.). Prior to those roles, Dr. Wright served as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Cyclerion Therapeutics, Inc., where he led global development functions across therapeutic areas, and prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Earlier in his career, Dr. Wright held a variety of medicines development and medical affairs roles at Axcella Health Inc. and Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated, most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Medicines Development and Affairs at Vertex. Dr. Wright was an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and a board-certified practicing neurologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for 20 years.
