Alkermes Medical Education Grants

Welcome to the Alkermes Medical Education Grant Request Site. The purpose of this site is to facilitate the submission of an educational grant request to Alkermes online. Alkermes is committed to supporting educational initiatives to help clinicians understand the latest information on new therapies and approaches to treat patients with alcohol dependence and improve patient outcomes. Educational activities must be high quality, based on the latest scientific evidence, and delivered in accordance with ACCME, OIG, FDA, and PhRMA guidance. Educational programs must be independent and fairly balanced, providing the best medical education to the addiction treatment community.

All grant requests must be submitted online not less than 60 days prior to the program start date. Alkermes is unable to process grants that are not submitted within this timeframe. Requests submitted other than through this website will not be accepted.

To submit an educational grant request, you must first read and accept the User Agreement below, after which the application for support will be provided to you for your completion.

Alkermes, Inc. is committed to supporting high-quality, innovative, educationally-appropriate, and timely medical education. Alkermes-supported education must be delivered in accordance with ACCME, OIG, FDA, and PhRMA guidance, providing fair, balanced, and independent content to the medical professional learner. The ultimate goal of this support is to provide healthcare professionals with an evidence-based body of knowledge as a means of improving patient care. Our fundamental expectation is that all those who receive grant support will operate with this same goal in mind.

Your acceptance of this document represents your commitment to act in accordance with the guidelines mentioned above and to maintain full responsibility for control of the content and faculty selection of any educational activity.

You acknowledge that submission of a grant request does not represent a funding commitment from Alkermes, that such request is subject to Alkermes’ internal approval process, and that Alkermes may approve or deny such request at its sole discretion.

You affirm that neither you nor your organization is involved with any promotional activities for Alkermes and that any affiliated companies who are involved in promotional activities with Alkermes are sufficiently firewalled (such as separate personnel, office space, IT support, servers, and phone lines, with communication between companies limited to company procedures and logistics).

All requirements for grant requests will be uploaded in order to avoid delays in processing and all grant request submissions must be made at least 60 calendar days prior to the proposed program.

For accredited programs, you affirm that neither you nor your organization is presently on the OIG, FDA, or ACCME exclusion or debarment lists. In addition, for accredited programs, the grant request must be signed by an authorized representative of the educational provider who is neither a faculty member nor viewed as an expert in the medical field.

For non-accredited programs, the grant request may be signed by a faculty member on behalf of their department; however, a non-faculty authorized representative of the institution is preferable. Payments will be made directly to the institution or hospital represented by the faculty member.

You also affirm that you understand that prior to any funding for grant requests, the standard Alkermes agreement for medical education grants will be signed by an authorized representative of the educational provider who is neither a faculty member nor an expert in the field.
