Amanda Bell

Amanda Bell
Quality Assurance Supervisor – Wilmington, OH

I came to Alkermes over eight years ago, having just graduated from college. Since I first stepped through the door, Alkermes has continually evolved and changed and I have had the opportunity to be along for the adventure. The company has provided me with many opportunities for growth and development, and currently I serve as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. In this role, my main responsibilities include supporting day-to-day processing and batch record review and release. These activities help ensure our patients receive a safe and quality drug. Working beside people who are knowledgeable, dedicated and work with integrity has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience for me.

Andrew Sorg
Associate Director, Manufacturing – Wilmington, OH

I joined Alkermes right out of college armed with a chemistry degree and a desire to work in the healthcare industry. I imagined that I would work in a lab but ended up in manufacturing where I have held several positions over more than 15 years. In my current role, I lead the Bulk Formulation, Polymer and Clinical Manufacturing Departments. The work is challenging yet rewarding, because at the end of the day I can say that I worked with some really incredible people to potentially help make patients' lives a little better. I am proud to be a part of what we do here at Alkermes.

Bill Lippke
Clinical Manufacturing Manager – Wilmington, OH

I joined Alkermes because I needed a job and it has turned into so much more; I have found an exciting career. The idea that we can affect people so dramatically with the products we are currently working on keeps us going at the demanding pace we maintain in Clinical Manufacturing. In my role as manager of the Clinical Manufacturing Department at the Wilmington, Ohio site, I oversee our three functions: clinical formulation, sublotting of material for filling in Cambridge and hand filling for current clinical trials. My main motivation lies in providing the highest quality product possible to our partners.

I joined Alkermes in July 1996 as a metrologist in the Engineering Department. In that role, I was responsible for the accuracy of instruments used for monitoring and controlling process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate and humidity. In 2005, I transferred from Engineering to the Manufacturing Department, to further my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, I am a team leader in the Manufacturing VIVITROL®/Polymer Department. My work at Alkermes has allowed me to gain valuable knowledge, not only about my field but about the industry as a whole. I am proud to be a part of a company that encourages growth and continued education among its employees.

Joe McCurdy

Joe McCurdy
Commercial Filling Manager - Wilmington, OH
Associates Degree - Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis

I joined Alkermes with 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and have found Alkermes to be very challenging and rewarding. In my role as a Commercial Filling manager, I ensure that all manufacturing systems, processes, equipment, and final products meet or exceed regulatory requirements. As a manager, I work hands-on, meaning I involve all the operators in group decision making, help on the floor when an extra pair of hands is needed, and ensure the production schedules are met. My success is measured by the great pride each of my operators takes in their work and it shows in their unprecedented metrics and accomplishments.
